Crowd tunes in to 'UMNO Idols'
With so many speakers scheduled to speak over the past four days, some delegates resorted to creative techniques to hold the attention of their tired audience as the night dragged on.

Mr Ismail Yaacob, a delegate from Langkawi, had the crowd in stitches when he delivered his speech in verse. The witty pantun is often used by Malays to make their point in a humorous manner, and it appears to have worked for Mr Ismail. The rhyme and rhythm may not have been perfect, but his message was.

A couple of delegates, meanwhile, turned to melodies and tunes. Never mind that their singing voices were unlikely to win any prizes - they won their audience.
